Why should I track my hours?
All Meadow Heights Elementary School volunteers should track their hours because the reporting of volunteer hours is important in maintaining the PTA’s federal tax-exempt status as a non-profit charitable organization. Any volunteer work completed that contributes to our school and community helps in maintaining our non-profit organization status.
What counts as a volunteer hour?
Volunteering comes in many different shapes and sizes! Volunteer activities include, but are not limited to the following:
Volunteering in the library or classrooms, chaperoning field trips, serving as a room parent
Attending PTA meetings, working on a PTA Committee or volunteering at PTA sponsored events
Preparing PTA publications (Newsletters, Websites, Flyers, Poster, etc.)
Time spent emailing or talking with others about PTA activities, shopping and preparing for classroom activities and events, and transportation time before and after any volunteer activities.
